Summer is everyone’s favourite only if we count juicy Mangoes and vacations in some Hill Station!
It is easier for our body to lose more weight in summer as heat makes us sweat more and eat less, thus helping us burn more fat and calories.
First you need to understand why you are not Losing Fat
You Are Not Getting Enough Sleep
Sleep is a vital function that allows your body and mind to reenergize, leaving you alert when you wake up and refreshed. Healthy sleep also helps the body to stave off diseases. Without enough sleep, the brain cannot function properly and insufficient sleep has been linked to a higher risk of conditions such as heart disease, diabetes and obesity.
You Are Not Eating Enough Fibre
Not getting enough fibre in your diet leads to fibre deficiency, and you may experience irregular bowel movement, constipation, blood sugar fluctuations or rise in cholesterol levels.
Eating more soluble fibre can also help you lose fat and precludestomach fat gain. So, eat bananas, pears, grapes, raspberries, mangoes, pineapple and nuts for a rich fibrous diet.
Not Eating Enough Protein
Lack of protein slower downs the metabolism, when your cells don’t get sufficient oxygen, it makes you tired therefore gives birth to lethargy and also makes one inactive.
Your lunch should be pure protein. Eat pulses, eggs, fish and food rich in proteins. Try to add chicken over red meat in your diet. A single bowl of curd will give you an extra protein kick and calcium boost. Also, in summer have buttermilk (lassi) with your meals.
Eating Too Much Processed Carbs and Sugar
If you overdo the carbs and sugar, your blood sugar levels get escalated. This causes your body to make more insulin, which makes your cells to save the extra glucose as fat. It can lead to obesity, diabetes, fatty liver and other health related issues.
Try avoiding bread daily, potato chips, canned fruit, sweets, chocolates, cold drinks, processed cereal; a sugary bowl of cereal contains the same amount of carbs as a plate of French fries.
Trying To Be Perfect Instead of Consistent
It is okay, the beginnings are usually hard. Reduce the junk first rather than eliminating it completely. Do not overeat, the habit of overeating and not controlling ourselves is our biggest mistake. Prioritize physical activity like cardio or weight liftingand lastly don’t rush instead trust the process.
